Women’s Section

Welcome

We are proud to have a large, inclusive women’s section with members of all ages, abilities and experience. They enjoy spending time together, playing our fantastic course and socialising in the clubhouse.

We offer something for everyone: fun and serious competitions, matches, coaching and social events.

We’re flexible. Most of our competitions can be entered on Tuesdays or Sundays, to suit members with work, family or educational commitments.

New to golf?

We warmly welcome beginners. Our buddy scheme helps newbies get involved and make friends by introducing them to other players of similar ability.

We offer regular group coaching with one of the club professionals. Women and girls of all abilities are encouraged to take part in our fun competitions and progress to more competitive golf, including inter-club friendly and league matches.

Eaton Academy – a programme for new golfers and those who would like to try Eaton before committing to full members. With two levels to choose from and additional coaching sessions for Ladies, this is a great way to get into golf at Eaton.

The 2026 academy launch took place on Sunday 22nd March. Please get in touch if you would like to find out about future events.

Our Academy has been a huge success with women moving through the various supported stages of group lessons, club loans and ongoing support. As one of our recent graduates said : “The academy’s been incredible. The organisation, the encouragement, the positivity and the willingness to help have all been brilliant. I really don’t think i would be enjoying the game of golf like I am if it hadn’t been for the academy and the amazing people behind it! A huge thank you.”

Keen on competition?

We are the only club in Norfolk to have three league teams and two scratch league teams playing inter-club county competitions, as well as players who represent Eaton at county, regional and national level.

Women in Golf Charter

We are proud to be a signatory of the R&A’s Women in Golf Charter and we are committed to developing women and girls’ golf. The charter aims to:

• Encourage more women and girls to play the game and join a golf club
• Inspire more families to enjoy golf as a group leisure activity
• Open up more opportunities for women to work within the golf industry

We have three charter champions, Sally Benton, Kay Bailey and Sue Ryan, who manage the Eaton Academy and offer a range of additional training activities and social events. In the summer 2024, 12 additional members took part in England Golf activator training to provide support to new members and beginners as they progress from practice ground to course. In 2025 Sally Benton was a finalist in the England Golf awards in the Women and Girl’s Trail Blazer awards for her work on the Eaton Academy.

We’d love to hear from you if you would like to find out what we offer women and girls, to chat to one of the committee members or to join the club.
